The Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) will be the focus of a webinar presented at noon Central time on April 6 by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Center for Agricultural Profitability. It will address what the program is, how it works and seek to answer frequently asked questions about participation.

The USDA program allows farmers and ranchers to enroll existing grassland into CRP and continue to work the land through haying and grazing. Since 2019, Nebraska farmers and ranchers have enrolled a large number of acres into Grassland CRP. This webinar will focus on helping participants understand CRP and the tools necessary to evaluate if and how they can enroll.

Ivy Reynolds, Grassland CRP Program Manager with the USDA Farm Service Agency, will lead the presentation. Reynolds will be joined by Patrick Lechner, Chief Specialist, Price Support and Conservations Programs with the USDA Farm Service Agency Nebraska State Office, and Elliott Dennis, an assistant professor in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Agricultural Economics.
